Press: DataMiner finalist for 2007 Teleport Awards for Excellence.
Izegem, February 2007,
The World Teleport Association (WTA)
announced the finalists for its 2007
Teleport Awards for Excellence, which
includes Skyline Communications with its
DataMiner Business Intelligence (DMS-BI)
solutions as a Teleport Technology Of
The Year finalist. The other two
finalists in this category include
ComTech EF Data from the United States
and Schlumberger from Scotland, United
Kingdom.
“It is a great honor for us to be
listed as a finalist for this fiercely
contested Teleport Technology Of The
Year Award organized by the WTA, and it
underlines the innovative character of
our DataMiner Business Intelligence
solution and the fact that it can make
significant contributions for today’s
modern teleport operations,” commented
Bert Vandenberghe, Software R&D Director
at Skyline Communications. “DMS-BI
enables satellite, HFC broadband,
broadcast and IPTV operators to manage
their entire operational environment,
across all vendor and technology
boundaries, from a very valuable
business perspective. The solution
features real-time SLA compliance
checking, open industry standard
architecture based on technologies such
as XML and SNMP, comprehensive web and
e-mail reporting, predictive SLA
compliance, fixed and sliding window
time evaluation frames, and much more.”
With DMS-BI in place, any issues
identified in the operational
environment are instantly presented to
the operator in the context of the
historical performance of the affected
services. Based on that unique
perspective created by DMS-BI, operators
can easily prioritize resource
allocation where business impact is
peaking. And where today’s common
monitoring solutions show a system with
a deceptive clean bill of health, DMS-BI
is now capable to instantly pinpoint
issues hidden below the surface and
lurking around the corner to deteriorate
business severely in a blink of the eye.
This allows those DMS-BI enabled
operators to easily take preemptive
measurements before business is affected.
The winners from this group of finalists
will be named by WTA during an
invitational ceremony and luncheon at
Satellite 2007 in Washington next week.
