SHM Broadcast selects DataMiner to solidify and consolidate its solutions portfolio.
Munich, Germany – May 2008. SHM Broadcast, a leading German provider for broadcast solutions, selected Skyline’s DataMiner multi-vendor network management platform to further solidify and consolidate its solutions portfolio. DataMiner will enable SHM to offer its customers comprehensive best-of-breed solutions, tightly integrated in a single DataMiner network management platform, across any vendor and technology boundaries.
“DataMiner is the number one multi-vendor NMS in our industry, and today it is deployed by industry leaders across the globe in the broadcast, satellite, IPTV and cable industry. Therefore it was a logical choice for us. But aside from the fact that it is a widely adopted and proven technology, and its many appealing features and capabilities, there were two signature characteristics that really convinced us that this was the right choice for both SHM Broadcast and our customers,” commented Michael Preisser, Managing Director at SHM Broadcast. “Firstly, there’s the fact that Skyline Communications is an authentic vendor independent supplier, an indispensable quality for this type of strategic applications. Network management is their expertise, that’s what they do. This assures that our customers can manage their entire ecosystem end-to-end, irrespective the products that they deploy today and any time in the future, without any risk of conflicts of interest. And secondly, as important for our customers, is the pronounced open architecture of the DataMiner NMS platform. Meaning that anybody can take this proven and widely deployed off-the-shelf solution, and seamlessly integrate it with any ecosystem . The latter is again an important warranty for our customers, and it also enables SHM Broadcast to offer a series of professional DataMiner related integration services.”
“We were very pleased with SHM Broadcast its decision to acquire the DataMiner Strategic Partner status. As Michael pointed out, DataMiner will be a great asset for SHM, and it will definitely leverage their business. But also Skyline has great expectations, as SHM is a well-respected player in the German market, and their expertise will enable us to expedite the deployments of DataMiner in this market,” added Glenn D’Haene, DataMiner Sales Manager at Skyline Communications. “The feedback from this market has been very positive towards our solutions, and we are eager to work with SHM to enable these operators to drive down their operational expenses, while increasing the quality and availability of their services. The upcoming ANGA Cable exhibition in Cologne is an excellent opportunity for interested parties to learn more about our solutions, including our recently released and already renowned DataMiner CPE Manager for the management of modems, set-top-boxes, and other devices at the subscriber premises.”
