the continuous growth of the multi-vendor
network management and turn-key contract
solution activities, Skyline
Communications further expanded its
engineering facilities at its headquearters
located in Izegem, Belgium. The
expansion includes amongst other new
facilities for the DataMiner
Application Engineering team and a technical
room housing new DataMiner test
platforms and serving space for devices
subject to integration into the DataMiner
platform.
DataMiner Application
Engineering is a team of highly skilled
experts responsible for the deployment of
DataMiner multi-vendor network
management solutions in the specific
environment of the customer, and supplier
driver development services, assistance
during the provisioning and deployment
process and consultancy services for
day-to-day operations and key
next-generation expansions. The
professional services of DataMiner
Application Engineering provide important
added value to the operators running
DataMiner platforms, and the new facilities
will allow the team to further increase
their efficiency and to further increase the
quality of their services.
Expansion is also further supported by
the new technical room, which houses a new
alpha test platform running automated
acceptance tests on new software release to
further optimize the quality of the
DataMiner solutions. The technical
room provides also all the professional
facilities to support the development of new
drivers, including multiple signal feeds
from satellite and cable to simulate the
actual operational environment of those
target devices subject to integration. DataMiner
currently features over 550 drivers from
more than 120 different manufacturers, and
drivers are currently developed at an
average rate of more than 3 new drivers per
week.
