DataMiner Release Seminar, Guardian Release 4.0

Izegem, June 2005 - The first, of what will become an annual event, DataMiner Release Seminar (DRS) has taken place on June 24th 2005 in Roeselare, Belgium. Based on a post-event survey and the large attendance by an international assembly of prominent companies in HFC broadband, satellite and broadcast, it can be concluded that the event was a major success. The DRS event was organized by Skyline Communications in response to the increased importance of professional network management solutions, and the strategic position taken by DataMiner in many leading companies their operational environments.

“During the event Skyline Communications presented the new DataMiner 4.0 release, which includes amongst other intelligent service management, a universal graphical user interface for matrices and switches, and video thumbnail monitoring.” confirmed Bert Vandenberghe, Software R&D Director, Skyline Communications. “The feedback we received on the new release was overwhelming positive, and we are confident that the installed customer base will largely benefit from it. Especially with features such as intelligent service management, which allows operators to view their entire operational environment, across any vendor boundaries, from a true service perspective. Companies that are determined to prevail these days need to improve their operations constantly, and service management is undisputedly recognized throughout the entire industry as the next major step forward in network management. DataMiner is the first solution to address this need with tangible to-the-point solutions.”

“The seminar was also organized as a social gathering for people in the industry to network and interact, an aspect that will be further emphasized for future DRS’. Essentially, because of its unique openarchitecture and high degree of flexibility, the potential of a platform such as DataMiner reaches beyond what is imaginable at first sight. People that choose to deploy DataMiner can rest assured that it is not just another monitoring tool that is going to sit there, it is an operational platform which can be used on a daily bases to introduce new savings and create new business opportunities. You can deploy it out-of-the-box, but there is a future after that initial deployment, and exactly that makes it a unique solution,” added Ben Vandenberghe, Sales and Marketing Director, Skyline Communicatoins. “Customers are very pleased with our cutting-edge DataMiner technology and all its capabilities, but down the line they are really impressed most about the return on investment they managed to realize. And that pleases us, because that is exactly what we attempt to achieve with every new release.”
