DMS Mobile Gateway provides a bridge between your DMS and a mobile network, and it enables SMS traffic to flow in between your DMS and users with a standard mobile phone. Aside from the traditional notifications being send via SMS, DMS Mobile Gateway offers a plethora of features, such as:

• Remote Data Querying: with a standard mobile phone, authorized users can now query the system for the value of any parameter of any device managed in the DMS. This way, users can retrieve for example a frequency or a level, from just any location, at any time.

• Remote Device Control: with a standard mobile phone, authorized users can now control any setting on any device managed in the DMS. This way, users can take control of any device, such as switching over a device to standby, changing a setting, etc. from just any location, at any time.

• Alarm Forwarding: Operators using the DMS web interface can now, with a single click, forward any of the alarm records to any of the registered users.

• General Purpose Messaging: DMS users can forward any general-purpose message to any of the registered users, largely increasing the efficiency of communications.

• Notifications: the DMS Mobile Gateway can also be used by the DMS to automatically send the user messages, whenever events occur relevant to that user. Also the DMS Correlation Engine, which can take intelligent decisions about the system status, is capable of notifying users through the DMS Mobile Gateway.

Note that DMS Mobile Gateway is also the first to support a mapping technique, such that any series of commands can be mapped onto a user-defined keyword. This significantly improves the efficiency of using SMS’ to interact with the system, and allows users for example to send a keyword such as a channel name to trigger a set of commands which adjusts the system to transmit that channel.

DMS Mobile Gateway includes an industry-grade mobile phone, which can be connected with any PC, on the network, on which one installs the DMS Mobile Gateway Server. Once up and running the DMS Mobile Gateway Server registers with all DataMiner Agents in your system, and a two-way flow of SMS traffic is enabled.

DataMiner Mobile Web Access is a new DataMiner web interface, specifically designed for the latest generation of mobile devices, including smart phones, PDA’s, UMPC’s, etc. The intuitive interface provides the user with access to any information from any device or SLA in the operational environment, across any vendor boundaries. Irrespective the complexity of the environment or the quantity of devices comprised in that environment, DataMiner Mobile Web Access allows the user to locate and control the desired information just with a couple of taps on the touch screen of his mobile device.
