VOO (giga)boosts its broadband services with DataMiner

VOO, the Belgian telecommunications quadruple-play operator operating in Brussels and the Wallonia region, has chosen to extend its existing DataMiner platform.

VOO has recently launched its new “GIGABOOST” option, allowing for internet speeds up to 1 Gbps. They have made this strategic decision to address an overall increase in concurrent use of broadband related to new trends like co-housing, teleworking, remote schooling and more.

DataMiner was initially deployed in the context of DOCSIS 3.0–based broadband service delivery. With this newly launched GIGABOOST broadband option, riding on more recent DOCSIS 3.1 access technology, the platform was extended with a full suite of additional key performance indicators, helping VOO ensure top-level quality of service both for their existing customers and for their new GIGABOOST subscribers.

“If there is one major takeaway from recent times, that would be how valuable high-speed internet has become. Today we are proud to highlight our investment in diversifying our customers’ options. Our new GIGABOOST subscription is available in selected regions, and we are committed to quickly extending it further to cover our entire service region and bring the highest standards of service to all our customers. In that light, we are grateful for the DOCSIS 3.1 expertise provided by Skyline. They have been our NMS/OSS solutions partner for several years and are now also the supplier of VOO’s Service & Resource Assurance Manager, which features connectivity and service assurance for all subscribers, GIGABOOST subscribers included,” said Christophe Massin, IT Solutions Delivery Manager at VOO.

“We’ve been a proud partner of VOO for many years and we’re very excited that we can now also contribute with our in-house expertise on DOCSIS 3.1. With our DataMiner Service & Resource Assurance Manager platform, featuring full DOCSIS 3.1 support, VOO can now perform connectivity and service monitoring at individual subscriber level, also for the new subscribers of their premium service,” said Dominique De Paepe, Market Director at Skyline.
