DataMiner announced as CSI awards finalist for “Best monitoring or network management solution”

Izegem, Belgium, August 2015 – Skyline Communications, global leader in end-to-end multi-vendor network management and OSS software solutions for the broadcast, satellite, cable, telco and mobile industries, is proud to announce that its cutting-edge next-generation network management platform DataMiner is nominated as a CSI awards finalist in the category “Best monitoring or network management solution.”

DataMiner provides broadcasters, satellite operators, and cable, telco and mobile service providers with an unprecedented end-to-end visibility over their entire network and operations, across any possible vendor and technology boundaries. As a result of continued far-reaching innovation by the highly skilled team of Skyline Communications, DataMiner has already been selected by more than 500 customers in over 100 countries around the world, to manage some of the most prestigious infrastructures more efficiently and more intuitively than ever before, and the renowned platform keeps on gaining momentum as the undisputed leader in NMS technology.

“DataMiner 9 overhauls the NMS/OSS landscape, bringing end-to-end visibility all the way from the content source down to millions of CPE devices. No other system provides unified and full control over all video and network devices, data centers and virtualized software functions, regardless of vendor or model. The reliable new resource booking and activation module is the foundation for the next generation of flexible media workflow automation and service scheduling across any video and transmission technology,” said Steven Soenens, Product Marketing Director at Skyline Communications. “Delivering services across hybrid network technologies has never been this easy and reliable, so DataMiner is truly becoming one of the most strategic assets an operator can have. It effectively takes any possible complex operation, and renders it into a single consolidated, flexible and fully transparent service delivery cloud.”

Siloed network architectures are history. Instead, converged all-IP network technologies connect everything together. Sharing network resources is the natural evolution, increasingly making use of COTS IT hardware and virtualization. Business velocity and capex reduction are the driving forces behind this, but the fact is that managing those flexible networks becomes ever more challenging and sophisticated. Reduction of complexity requires end-to-end visibility and control over the entire infrastructure and all services, i.e. a single end-to-end network and service management system, rather than multiple isolated element management systems.

“DataMiner already manages more than 4 000 products from over 500 different technology vendors in the media industry, which is unprecedented. This truly unique multi-vendor aspect, and the vendor-independence of the corporation behind the product, set DataMiner apart from any other system on the market, and it is the foundation of all those successful deployments worldwide. As a result, DataMiner has become the leading platform to manage SNG networks, sports contribution, broadcast exchange networks, studios, VoD assets, playouts, cable and telco head ends, satellite uplinks, DTH, DTT, cable and telco plants, etc.” said Ben Vandenberghe, CEO at Skyline Communications. “And our quest continues today with our investments in sophisticated big data analytics, further expanding the reach of DataMiner to monitor QoS of millions of CPE devices in a pro-active manner, faster than any other system on the market. Operational excellence of our customers is peaking because of DataMiner.”

The CSI Awards, now celebrating their 13th year, have experienced the highest number of entries on record, making it an even greater achievement to be shortlisted this year. The winners will be determined by an independent judging panel and will be announced on Friday 11 September 2015 at IBC in Amsterdam.
